A decant can let you try a fragrance without paying for a full bottle, while a full bottle usually offers more volume and factory packaging. But the word “decant” describes a smaller amount transferred into another container; it does not, by itself, prove what the liquid is or where it came from. For an online buyer in Bangladesh, the decision is about both value and evidence.

What is a perfume decant?
A decant is a smaller quantity transferred from a larger fragrance bottle into a travel atomizer or vial. It is not necessarily a miniature packaged by the fragrance house. A seller should clearly state the volume, the fragrance name/concentration, whether the bottle is factory sealed or opened, how the decant is filled and what container you will receive.
Seller explanations differ. Arovell’s terms define its decants as fragrance transferred from full-size bottles and state its own sourcing claims. Treat those as the merchant’s representations; they are not third-party authentication of a separate seller’s stock.
Compare value per millilitre
Price per ml = item price ÷ stated millilitres
Suppose a 5 ml decant costs ৳900 and a 50 ml bottle costs ৳8,500. The decant is ৳180 per ml; the full bottle is ৳170 per ml before delivery. The full bottle has the lower unit cost, but requires a much larger upfront spend. If you only want to wear the fragrance a few times or are unsure about it, the smaller size may be a sensible trial even at a higher per-ml cost.
Add delivery to both totals. A single tiny vial can become expensive if the courier charge is nearly the same as for a larger order. Bundling several products may lower shipping per item, but only when you actually want them.

What seller evidence is useful?
Ask for a clear product description and a written answer to specific questions:
- Is the listed size a decant, factory miniature, tester, full bottle or partial bottle?
- What is the stated concentration and exact volume?
- If it is a decant, can the seller identify the source bottle and explain the filling process?
- Is there an invoice, physical shop/contact information and a clear complaint route?
- What happens if the item arrives leaking, damaged or materially different from the listing?
- Is COD available in your area, and what is the delivery fee?
Packaging details, barcodes, batch codes, QR codes or a persuasive photo are not standalone proof of authenticity. Treat unusually low prices as a reason to ask more questions, not as proof either way. Do not accept a seller’s use of “original” as a substitute for clear product type, source explanation and after-sales terms.
Delivery and returns matter for small bottles
Check whether glass is packed securely, whether the shop ships to your district, and whether perfume is eligible for COD. Read the exact return policy; personal-care products may be excluded from change-of-mind returns once opened. For a leak or wrong item, preserve the parcel, take photos and contact the merchant within its stated deadline.
