COD is convenient, but it is not the same as inspection
Cash on delivery lets you pay when the parcel reaches the delivery point, but it does not automatically mean you may open and test the product first. Ask the merchant what the courier permits and what to do if the package looks damaged. Confirm whether the courier accepts cash only or supports another payment method, and keep the exact amount ready if required.
Prepayment can unlock a bank or wallet promotion, but compare its actual savings with your comfort level and the merchant’s refund process. Do not prepay a personal account because a seller messages you a new number outside the official checkout. Consider the return trip, not only the delivery trip
For a low-cost item, return courier fees or travel to a collection point can outweigh the benefit of a discount. Before ordering clothing, fragile items, electronics or bulky products, check who pays for return shipping and whether the seller will collect from your district. Keep the invoice, parcel label, tracking number and original packing in case you need to report a problem.
